Why You Need the Shadowgraph Glass Inspection Equipment as a Glass Manufacturer

I am writing this article to help out you glass manufacturing companies who are unsure about, or cannot guarantee the quality of your products, as well as those of you who feel comfortable about your products, but don't realize what you might be missing in the quality control aspect of your field. My objective in writing this brief article is to provide you with the knowledge of a remedy, the Shadowgraph. This equipment was designed explicitly for Shadowgraph (defined as "a picture produced by throwing a shadow on a lighted screen, wall or the like") inspection of plate glass, or flat glass, and is currently used by the world's leading flat glass manufacturers. There is no reason to 'play up' this equipment, so I will jump right into what the Shadowgraph is, how it works and, overall, why it is essential to your manufacturing business.

The Shadowgraph and (all replacement parts) are available in both 500 watts (SLS-500) and 2000 watts (SLS-2000). This equipment is mostly 'plug and play,' except you must connect the two major pieces of equipment with a set of DC cables, and install the Xenon bulb. The two major pieces of replaceable Shadowgraph equipment are the rectifier and the lamphouse. The rectifier provides the power to the entire system while the lamphouse houses the Xenon bulb. The Xenon bulb is THE most important part of your equipment: By holding your test piece of glass in the brilliant white light (approximating sunlight), striae, or "seeds", and other imperfections cast shadows onto a back drop. Faulty areas are then quickly perceptible for marking. This method is much faster and much more accurate than direct visual scanning of glass sheets. Just think of all of those teensy tiny, miniscule defects your eyes could be missing!

The icing on the cake, aside from the fact that it is a necessity simply for the fact of what it is and what it does, is that this equipment has been designed, manufactured, probed and prodded and updated for more than 50 years by Kneisley Manufacturing, and rarely is there an issue with a newly manufactured piece. I know this article is quite short and may lack some luster and information that you may require, but this is the end of the information I am able to provide you, and I am glad I shared what I could!
